Sculptra® Aesthetic
Patients who are interested in facial rejuvenation with fillers may benefit from a natural collagen-producing product called Sculptra® Aesthetic. Unlike hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, Sculptra® works to restore the inner structure of the skin and replace volume naturally. So, as hyaluronic acid fillers diminish lines by pushing up the dermal space beneath wrinkles and creases, Sculptra® works to restore the deep, underlying structure of the skin.
How Many Treatments Are Needed?
Patients generally require 2-3 treatments to achieve their final result, which can take three to four months to complete.

HOW IT WORKS
Sculptra is made with a biocompatible, biodegradable, synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid, which is gradually and naturally absorbed by the body and helps to rebuild lost collagen through a series of treatments.
- Sculptra typically delivers the best results when administered in a series of treatments. Most patients benefit from three injections over the course of 3-4 months, with results lasting up to 2 years.
- Our providers will form a personalized treatment plan depending on the amount of lost collagen in your skin.
- Sculptra is injected into the deep dermis, which is where collagen strands form.
- Over time, PLLA stimulates new collagen production to lift, tighten and smooth skin. This helps restore the deep scaffolding within the skin for natural-looking results that are based on your own body’s collagen production.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Irritation: It can be in the form of redness or bruising at the injection site. This effect typically subsides within a few hours or days. An ice pack may give some relief.
Swelling: It may also appear as small bumps either near or away from the injection site. It can last up to a week after treatment. Elevating the head with pillows and applying a cold compress can help subside the swelling.
Discoloration of Skin (Rare): Very few patients experience discoloration following injections, but it subsides within a few days.
Nodules: Patients may experience codule formation on or near the injection site. Early nodules may be due to uneven product distribution; Periodic massaging can solve the issue.
TREATMENT
Jeuveau Vs. Botox:
Jeuveau is the fourth form of botulinum toxin type A to be introduced in the U.S.—Botox was first, in 2002; then Dysport, in 2009; and Xeomin, in 2011. Out of this foursome, though, Jeuveau is the first toxin to be formulated with the same 900 kDa molecular weight as Botox. Xeomin, on the other hand, has a 150 kDa molecular weight, and Dysport comes in a range of molecular sizes that similar chemical composition makes Jeuveau the most similar to Botox in terms of outcomes. “Recent data have shown that the complexing proteins that surround the active molecular core in Jeuveau and Botox are necessary for the best results. Jeuveau is not tested on amimals like the other botulinum toxins which is important to us as a clinic.
HOW IT WORKS
Jeuveau does not require anesthesia and only takes a few minutes. Tiny needles are administered into the underlying muscles of the target area. This creates a temporary blockage between the target muscles and their associated nerves, causing the muscles to relax.
The whole treatment process takes only 15 minutes, and because its non-invasive, downtime is unnecessary. You can go back to your normal activities immediately, but follow certain precautions like:
- Avoid rubbing the injection sites for 24 hours after the session to prevent the spread of the medication, which could cause side effects
- Abstain from any form of exercise for 24 hours post treatment.
- Stay away from the other cosmetic procedures like skin tightening and laser treatment for 2 weeks post treatment.
- Sleep on your back to keep any weight off the injected area
WHAT TO EXPECT
Compared to other anti-aging treatment injections, which last 3-4 months, a Jeuveau treatment can last 5-6 months. However, there are exceptions. Individuals with hyperactive muscles may experience a shorter efficacy period. Depending on your muscle and metabolism, a Jeuveau treatment can last longer then 3 months. The dosage administered can affect your results as well. It usually takes up to 10 days to see the final results.
Jeuveau®
Jeuveau was clinically developed specifically for aesthetic reasons and made with Evolus' Hi-Pure technology using a state-of-the-art manufacturing process. Jeuveau is French for 'nouveau' meaning 'new' or 'modern' and it is pronounced 'Ju-vo'. Neurotoxins are injected into the face to prevent the skin from sagging and slow the process that generates creases around muscles in the face. Jeuveau can smooth out existing lines and help prevent new lines from forming.

Fight Back Against Volume Loss and Maintain Youthful-Looking Skin with Dermal Fillers
Restylane is an injectable dermal filler composed of a smooth hyaluronic acid gel. Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule that naturally already exists in the human body. It is found within the cells of the muscles, skin, and tendons of humans and other mammals. Hyaluronic acid acts kind of like a sponge- it loves to bind with water molecules, effectively 'absorbing' and retaining water. Younger people have higher levels of hyaluronic acid in their bodies, which is what gives them a youthful, hydrated, and full look. As you age, levels of hyaluronic acid deplete and fat distribution of the face changes, causing the the formation of wrinkles and hollowness in the face.
TREATMENT
Restylane is used to non-surgically restore lost facial volume and visibly reducing the appearance of wrinkles and folds on the face. There are 6 types of Restylanes that we use in our office: Restylane-L, Restylane Lyft, Restylane Defyne, and Restylane Refyne Restylane Contour, & Restylane Kysse. Each type of Restylane has unique properties that are selected based on the concerns the patient wishes to address. Restylane can be used to soften smiles lines around the nose, restore volume in temples and cheeks, erase fine etched in lines in the skin, and plump lips for a sexier pout. Restylane longevity ranges from 6 months to a year, depending on the type used and how fast the individual's body breaks down the filler.
BENEFITS
Restylane fills in wrinkles, folds and creases in the face and lips and also augments lips. In addition to volume-filling, Restylane increases collagen production and may prevent the breakdown of existing collagen. With regular injections the effects are more pronounced and longer-lasting.
HOW IT WORKS
During treatment, Restylane gel is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle. The gel produces volume under the wrinkle, which is lifted up and smoothed out. When enhancing lips or facial contours, Restylane instantly adds volume and shape to the treated area, but will take a full 2 weeks to settle. We suggest scheduling a 2-week follow-up post injection.
WHAT TO EXPECT
During the first 48 hours after your treatment, do not massage or rub the treated area. If you have had a lip enhancement, avoid puckering your lips for the first two days after the treatment. Until the initial swelling and redness have resolved, do not expose the treated area to intense heat or extreme cold.
- Swelling, redness, and tenderness will occur after your treatment and usually resolves within 72 hours.
- Cold compresses may be used immediately after treatment to reduce swelling.
- Avoid lasers, facials, or IPL treatments over areas with Restylane for a minimum of 2 week after treatment.
- Follow up treatments should be scheduled every 6-9 months. Consistent repeated treatments will produce the best results.
